Hey, everybody. We all hope everyone's doing well. Here are a few ideas of how you can pamper yourself with what you have in the kitchen. We're going to talk about avocados, avocado oil, and olive oil.
If you want to grow your hair, these two oils and avocados can help. When you keep your hair, especially the ends, moisturized you will not have as much breakage. If the ends of your hair are not breaking off, your hair won’t shrink from the bottom up.
First of all, look at the texture of your hair. I would use avocado oil for hair that is thinner, not as curly and naturally more oily than others. Or when I do not want a lot of heavy oil on my hair. Olive oil is better for hair that is thicker, curlier, coarser and drier than others. My hair is dry and curly and therefore can get frizzy. So I like olive oil when my hair needs a deep condition.
What I do is I get the olive oil and I warm it up gently. Sometimes just with my hands. About a cup should do. Start by working it into your scalp. Then, work it all the way through your hair to the ends. After about 30 minutes, shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would.
You can also do another little trick with olive oil. Get a little bit of olive oil, put it on a cotton ball and rub it on your cuticles. It is dry here in Arizona, so we're always looking for ways to condition our cuticles. And it’s safe and natural!
Olive oil is fantastic and it is full of vitamin E, which is so good for the skin. It is great for your hair and scalp when you want to hydrate and moisturize them. It's also good for the scalp because it's an anti-inflammatory, and it's soothing. If you've got any kind of scalp condition, including dandruff, an olive oil treatment is excellent. The worst that could happen is your hair's greasy for a bit, and then all you have to do is wash it out. But if you have a hot date, you might want to do it another time, because it can make you smell like a salad!
Now, let’s talk about avocado oil and avocados. You know when those avocados get to the point that you don't want to eat them anymore? Don't waste them!
Here's how you can use them. You can put the avocados in a bowl and mash them up with avocado oil or olive oil and make a mixture. Mix until they combine and are creamy. Then, just put the mixture all over your hair. What I like to do is section my hair, then I put the avocado mixture in my hair and let it sit. Kind of amazing!
Here's another bonus. Pure avocado on your face and hands restores and rejuvenates. It's also shown that avocado oil is full of minerals that can help repair the cuticle. Pretty cool!
There are other ingredients that you can add to the above, as well. I will cover those in blogs to come.
We hope that everyone's taking care of themselves and enjoy your kitchen pampering!
